- 1 loaf bread, cubed and dried
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 2 teaspoons dried sage
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the onion and celery and sauté until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, onion mixture, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in chicken broth and beaten eggs, stirring to combine.
- Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
- Add sausage for extra flavor.
