  • 0.5 tablespoon olive oil Just enough to get that skillet nice and hot, giving your crust a little head start on crispiness.
  • 8 ounces ready-to-bake pizza dough My secret weapon for speed! Grab your favorite brand from the grocery store – it’s usually found in the refrigerated section.
  • 0.25 cup pizza sauce Use your go-to jarred sauce or even your favorite marinara.
  • 0.75 cup shredded mozzarella cheese The classic pizza cheese, for that irresistible melty pull.
  • pizza toppings This is where you get creative! Think pepperoni, cooked sausage, bell peppers, onions, black olives, mushrooms – whatever makes your taste buds sing.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to around 450-500°F (230-260°C).
  • Heat the cast iron skillet on the stovetop over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and heat for 1-2 minutes until shimmering.

  • Carefully place pizza dough into the hot skillet and press it down to form the pizza base.

  • Spread pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a border for the crust.

  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

  • Add your favorite pizza toppings.

  • Carefully transfer the skillet into the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden-brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Carefully remove skillet from oven, let pizza cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

For extra crispy crust, ensure oven is at the correct high temperature, preheat skillet properly with oil, and don't overload with too many wet toppings. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet over medium heat for a crispy crust.
