10-Minute Air Fryer Asparagus (Crispy & Perfect Every Time!)

This recipe transforms simple asparagus into a crave-worthy side dish in just 10 minutes using an air fryer. It's incredibly easy, requires minimal ingredients and effort, and consistently delivers perfectly crisp-tender spears.
Cook Time 10 minutes

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Medium bowl

Ingredients

Hauptzutaten

  • 1 lb Asparagus bright green spears with tight tips; thicker spears work great
  • 1 Garlic clove freshly minced
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil Olive oil, avocado oil, or grapeseed oil

Instructions

  • Wash the asparagus spears under cool water.
  • Trim the tough, woody ends by snapping off one spear and using it as a guide to chop the rest.
  • Place the trimmed asparagus into a medium bowl.
  • Add the oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the asparagus.
  • Toss everything well to ensure every spear is lightly coated.
  • Carefully place the seasoned asparagus into your air fryer basket in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary.
  • Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Air fry for 7-10 minutes, checking for doneness around the 7-minute mark. Look for tender spears with browned spots and crispness.
  • Carefully remove the asparagus from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket for maximum crispiness. Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of your asparagus and your specific air fryer. Trimming the ends is key to avoiding woody bits. You can wash and trim the asparagus a day in advance and store it in the fridge; season right before air frying. This dish is best enjoyed immediately. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and are best reheated in the air fryer.
