Spicy, creamy, and utterly delicious – this Cajun Chicken with Mustard Cream Sauce is a dinner delight that's sure to impress! Perfect for a cozy weeknight meal or a special occasion.

Ingredients

  • * 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • * 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • * 1 teaspoon paprika
  • * 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • * 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • * 1/4 cup butter
  • * 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • * 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • * 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • * 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • * 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • * 1 teaspoon honey
  • * Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Season chicken breasts generously with Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and melt completely.
  • Whisk in Dijon mustard, heavy cream, honey, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.
  • Add garlic powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, coating it evenly with the mustard cream sauce.
  • Simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the chicken to absorb the flavors.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the Cajun seasoning for at least 30 minutes before cooking. You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts; adjust cooking time accordingly. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a tablespoon of water or chicken broth to thin it out. Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
