Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie

Ingredients
  

Cheese & Seasonings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese optional topping
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Meats & Crust

  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound sausage optional
  • 0.5 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 0.5 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust or homemade deep-dish crust

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage (if using) over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add the pizza sauce, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to the skillet; stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Press the pie crust into the deep-dish pie pan. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the crust.
  • Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture, followed by the pepperoni.
  • Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese, and then the cheddar cheese (if using).
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool slightly before sprinkling with Parmesan cheese (if using) and slicing to serve.

Notes

For a spicier pie, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
