Easy Apple Caramel Bombs

Little pockets of pure comfort, these Apple Caramel Bombs are ridiculously easy to whip up, making them perfect for a spontaneous treat or a last-minute gathering. They combine the classic flavors of apple, caramel, and spice.

Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 4 large apples cored, Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended
  • 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 0.5 cup pecans chopped
  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg ground
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 0.25 cup raisins optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine caramel sauce, chopped pecans, rolled oats, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter. If using raisins, add them now.

  • Stir all ingredients until well combined, creating a chunky caramel mixture.
  • Place the cored apples in a baking dish.

  • Spoon the caramel mixture generously into the hollowed-out centers of each apple.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until apples are tender and the topping is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Can be made ahead by preparing apples and filling separately. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a low oven (300°F/150°C) for 5-10 minutes.
