Prep Time 10 minutes

Equipment

  • Medium bowl For stirring by hand (results in a slightly chunkier texture)
  • Food processor For a super smooth, whipped texture
  • high-powered blender For a super smooth, whipped texture
  • Spoon or spatula For stirring

Ingredients

Hauptzutaten

  • 1 cup cottage cheese use 4% milkfat for creamiest result, or your favorite; adds protein and body
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix store-bought packet or homemade mix; brings classic ranch tang and herbiness
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk (optional) for extra smooth, pourable dip perfection

Instructions

  • First things first, grab a medium bowl. If you want a super smooth, almost whipped texture, pull out your food processor or a high-powered blender instead. Toss your cottage cheese right in.
  • Next, add that magical ranch seasoning mix. Just sprinkle it right over the cottage cheese.
  • Now, if you're going for that extra silky consistency, pour in the buttermilk here. This really helps everything blend into dreamy submission.
  • Time to combine! If you're using a bowl, grab a spoon or a spatula and stir everything together really well. Keep stirring until the seasoning is fully incorporated into the cottage cheese. If you're using a food processor or blender, pop on the lid and process until the dip is completely smooth and creamy, with no little cottage cheese curds visible. This usually only takes 30-60 seconds. Give it a scrape down if needed and process again.
  • Give it a quick taste and add a tiny pinch more seasoning if you think it needs it. Spoon it into a serving dish, and get ready to dip!

Notes

If you really dislike the texture of cottage cheese curds, using a food processor or blender is key. Blend until completely smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Optional but recommended: chill for 15-30 minutes for flavors to meld. Can be made a day or two in advance. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Stir before serving again.
