Equipment

  • Grill
  • Medium-sized bowl
  • Skewers Wooden (soak before use) or metal

Ingredients

Hauptzutaten

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed is best
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Make the Marinade. Grab a medium-sized bowl. Whisk together your minced garlic, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Give it a good stir until everything is combined.
  • Marinate the Shrimp. Add your peeled and deveined shrimp to the bowl with the marinade. Toss everything together gently, making sure every single shrimp is coated nicely. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes, but no longer than 30 minutes.
  • Preheat Your Grill. While the shrimp are marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Skewer the Shrimp. Once the shrimp have marinated, thread them onto your skewers. Leave a little space between each shrimp.
  • Grill 'Em Up! Place the skewers on the preheated grill. Grill for just 2-3 minutes per side. Watch them closely until they turn pink and opaque.
  • Serve immediately. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days after cooling.

Notes

Don't over-marinate (stick to 15-30 minutes). Soak wooden skewers in water before threading to prevent burning. Pat shrimp dry before marinating (optional). Ensure grill is hot, clean, and oiled to prevent sticking. Watch shrimp closely as they cook fast (2-3 minutes per side). Leftover grilled shrimp can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days once cooled.
