Easy & Healthy Peanut Butter Greek Frozen Yogurt (No Machine Needed!)

A ridiculously easy and quick recipe for a sweet, creamy, and satisfying frozen yogurt made with Greek yogurt and natural peanut butter. It requires no special equipment like an ice cream maker and is packed with protein and healthy fats, making it a guilt-free indulgence.
Prep Time 10 minutes

Equipment

  • Medium-sized mixing bowl
  • sturdy spoon or whisk
  • Freezer-safe container Ideally airtight and shallow
  • Freezer

Ingredients

Hauptzutaten

  • 2 cup plain Greek yogurt Use whole milk for creamiest texture or non-fat if watching calories. Must be plain.
  • 0.5 cup natural peanut butter Just peanuts (and maybe salt). Needs to be smooth for easy mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon honey or pure maple syrup Optional, adjust to taste. Maple syrup can keep it vegan if using vegan yogurt. Can also use agave or other liquid sweeteners.

Instructions

  • First, grab a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Next, spoon the two cups of plain Greek yogurt into the bowl. Get every last bit!
  • Now, add in your half cup of natural peanut butter. Dollop it right on top of the yogurt.
  • Pour in the teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Finally, add your sweetener – the honey or pure maple syrup. Start with the two tablespoons, or a little less if you prefer things less sweet.
  • Now for the main event: Stir time! Grab a sturdy spoon or a whisk. You want to stir everything together really well until it's completely smooth and there are no streaks of plain yogurt or blobs of peanut butter. Keep mixing until it's one uniform, beautiful, creamy peanut butter colored mixture. Scrape down the sides of the bowl a couple of times to make sure everything is incorporated.
  • Once it's perfectly smooth, taste a tiny little spoonful. If you think it needs a touch more sweetness, add another half tablespoon of sweetener and stir again until combined. Remember, cold things taste less sweet, so don't be afraid to make it taste just right at this stage.
  • Now, you need to freeze it. You can pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container. A shallow container works best because it freezes faster and more evenly. An airtight container is ideal to prevent freezer burn.
  • Pop the container into your freezer. Now comes the hardest part... waiting! It will need several hours to freeze solid enough to scoop, typically 4-6 hours, but it can vary depending on your freezer. I usually make it in the morning or the night before I want to enjoy it.
  • When you're ready for a scoop, take it out of the freezer. If it's rock hard, let it sit on the counter for 5-10 minutes to soften slightly before scooping.
  • Then, scoop, serve, and enjoy your incredible, homemade peanut butter frozen yogurt!

Notes

Use thick Greek yogurt for best results; regular yogurt will be icy. Mix thoroughly to ensure uniform texture. A wide, shallow container helps with freezing. Allow sufficient freezing time (4-6+ hours). If frozen solid, let soften for 5-10 minutes before scooping. Store leftovers in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to 2-3 weeks to prevent freezer burn.
