Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat; drain off any excess grease.
Stir in the garlic salt and cook for 1 minute more.
In a large bowl, combine the browned beef, consomme, French onion soup, and water.
Stir in the uncooked rice.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Top with sliced butter.
Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and the casserole is bubbly.
Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a combination of beef broth and French onion soup.
