Harry Potter Butterbeer

A quick and easy Harry Potter-themed Butterbeer recipe with a creamy butterscotch topping that can be made at home.

Ingredients
  

Butterbeer Base

  • 2 liters cream soda chilled
  • 0.25 teaspoon caramel extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon butter extract

Butterscotch Cream Topping

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup butterscotch topping
  • 0.25 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a large pitcher, gently pour in the chilled cream soda. Add the caramel extract and the butter extract. Stir gently to combine without making it too fizzy.

  • In a separate bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream. Whip the cream until it forms stiff peaks using an electric mixer or a whisk.

  • Gently fold in the butterscotch topping and the powdered sugar into the whipped cream until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  • Pour the cream soda mixture into your favorite glasses.
  • Generously top each glass with the butterscotch cream topping. Use a spoon or a piping bag for a fancier touch.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use full-fat coconut milk or a dairy-free whipping cream alternative. Add a splash of butterscotch schnapps or light rum for an adult version. A pinch of sea salt in the topping can enhance flavor. Edible glitter or extra butterscotch drizzle can be added for sparkle.
