Homemade Salsa Recipe with Fresh Tomatoes

A fresh and vibrant salsa made with ripe tomatoes, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, garlic, lime juice, and sea salt.

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients
  

Vegetables

  • 4 medium Tomatoes (halved)
  • 1 small Onion (cut into large chunks)
  • 1 medium Jalapeno (seeds removed and coarsely chopped)

Seasoning & Herbs

  • 1 cup Fresh cilantro
  • 3 cloves Garlic (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 0.25 tsp Sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Halve the tomatoes.
  • Cut the onion into large chunks.
  • Remove the seeds from the jalapeno and coarsely chop it.
  • Coarsely chop the garlic.
  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix well to combine.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Serve immediately or chill for later.

Notes

For a spicier salsa, leave some or all of the jalapeno seeds in. You can also add other ingredients like diced bell peppers or corn.
