Luxury Buttery Billion Dollar Biscuits 🍞🧈

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • - 4 cups Bisquick or a similar baking mix
  • - 1 cup sour cream avoid using light
  • - 1 cup 7-Up or a similar lemon-lime soda
  • - 1/2 cup 1 stick salted butter

Instructions

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). This will ensure your biscuits rise beautifully and have a golden crust.
  • In a medium bowl, melt the salted butter in the microwave or in a small saucepan over low heat. Allow it to cool slightly, but don't let it solidify.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick baking mix and sour cream. Stir gently until well integrated.
  • Slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda while continuing to mix. The carbonation will create that perfect fluffy texture.
  • Finally, incorporate the melted butter into the mixture, folding it gently until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix; you want to keep those air pockets for a light biscuit.
  • On a lightly floured surface, turn out the dough and knead it briefly, just enough to bring it together (about 5 to 6 times).
  • Pat the dough to a thickness of about 1 inch and use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out your biscuits. Place them on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving a bit of space between each one.
  • Bake in your preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and flaky on top.
  • Once done, remove baking sheet from the oven and allow the biscuits to cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
