Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs - Melty-Center, Saucy Perfection!

Ingredients
  

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg Egg
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese

Sauce and Other Ingredients

  • 24 oz Jar of marinara sauce
  • 8 oz Fresh mozzarella balls Small size, drained
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until just combined.
  • Cut each mozzarella ball in half.
  • Form the meat mixture into 1-inch meatballs, pressing a mozzarella half into the center of each.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides.
  • Transfer the browned meatballs to a baking dish.
  • Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs. Add minced garlic and oregano.
  • Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
  • Serve hot, over pasta or with crusty bread.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture or the sauce.
