Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Candy

A classic no-bake peanut butter candy recipe.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls At least two medium-sized bowls
  • Baking Sheet For setting the candy
  • Parchment paper To line the baking sheet

Ingredients
  

Peanut Butter Mixture

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Optional additions

  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet or milk chocolate
  • 0.25 cup chopped peanuts Roasted or salted

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and heavy cream.
  • Mix until well combined and smooth. If using, add chocolate chips and peanuts at this stage.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Pour the peanut butter mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly to about 1/2 inch thickness.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  • Once firm, cut into small squares or other desired shapes.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of powdered sugar. Adjust the amount of powdered sugar to achieve desired consistency.
