Ingredients

  • Cooking spray For air fryer basket
  • 1 lb Okra Fresh or frozen; If fresh, wash, pat dry, and slice 1-inch thick. If frozen, break up clumps.
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil Or other neutral oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika Smoked paprika recommended for deeper flavor
  • 1 tsp Sea salt Adjust to taste
  • 0.25 tsp Cayenne pepper Adjust to taste for desired heat

Instructions
 

  • If using fresh okra, wash, pat dry, and slice 1-inch thick. If using frozen, break up clumps.
  • Add okra to a medium bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Add garlic powder, paprika, sea salt, and cayenne pepper to the bowl.
  • Toss everything together until okra is evenly coated with oil and spices.
  • Lightly spritz the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the seasoned okra in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed.
  • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Best enjoyed hot and fresh. To store leftovers, cool completely and refrigerate in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes. Dryness is key when using fresh okra to minimize sliminess. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; cook in batches for best results. Air fryers can vary, so check for doneness around 10 minutes.
