Instructions
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, combine the cooked pasta and the sloppy joe mixture. Stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese.
Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and the crushed crackers or French fried onions (if using).
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
