These Spicy Jalapeno Popper Twists are an incredibly easy and fast appetizer that's perfect for any occasion. With a flaky puff pastry shell filled with a creamy, cheesy, and spicy jalapeno mixture, they're sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Found in the freezer aisle
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese Softened
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 0.5 cup Sliced Jalapenos Fresh or pickled, drained if canned/pickled
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Egg Beaten

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven according to the puff pastry package instructions.
  • In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined.

  • Gently unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface.

  • Evenly spread the cheese and jalapeno mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

  • Starting from a longer side, tightly roll up the puff pastry.

  • Cut the rolled puff pastry into approximately 1/2-inch thick slices.

  • Gently twist each slice.
  • Arrange the twisted pastry pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Brush the tops of the twists with the beaten egg for a golden finish.

  • Bake according to puff pastry package directions, or until puffed and golden brown.

Notes

These twists are best enjoyed fresh and warm. They can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days in an airtight container and reheated in a 300°F (150°C) oven for 5-7 minutes to regain crispiness. Unbaked twists can be frozen until firm and then transferred to a freezer bag for baking from frozen, and baked twists can be frozen for up to a month.
